I have read this book several times now, enjoying it on several levels. The most surprising read was recently when I was also studying the Psalms in the Bible. Patsy Brundige's poetry helped me get into the rhythm of poetry as a way to further understand and appreciate the Psalms, as words of the NOW.
Although an avid reader I have never been a fan of poetry until now. Rev. Patsy Brundige has the wonderful ability to create a vivid tapestry of visuals and emotions which invites you to be drawn into the moment and allow the emotions to wash over you. Her poems are truly an uncommon celebration of life, of love, of memories and of new beginnings.
This book is for someone who is going through the grime and gunk of life, and is struggling with the V-word (Vulnerability). It would be a great gift for someone who is conflicted with giving up control of their life to a Higher Power ... where our lives belong (to) in the first place. This author and her work stands as hearty witness that God still has more to show them about life and human worth IF one does choose, lovingly - trustingly - painfully, to hand over the controls.
